Mens Fashion - How To Create Lasting And Permanent Styles

Many men and women do not have much idea about Mens Fashion . Very often the advice I have been approached on are what men can wear to appear professional or what men should wear so that they do not look outdated but overtly trendy. I would greatly suggest understanding the basics of men's fashion and put this knowledge into a permanent mens fashion style. There would not be anymore worry about following trends but perpetually looking stylish. The basics of men's fashion boil down to knowing what each piece of apparel is made up of. The fabrics used determine a lot on the quality of the apparel. Good fabrics allow the apparel to withstand wear and tear. If any men's clothing or accessories that wear out fast would naturally make it look old and badly cared. This does not reflect well of the men wearing it and easily put most men out of style just by looking shaggy. The next important point we need to note are the details found in every apparel and accessories. Details can be subtle but it creates a very big impact in the eventual outlook of the styling. So before we start playing with details, the knowledge of each detail's responsibility and how it helps in holding up the item or even gives significance to it in style can assist us in choosing the best men's clothing. Learning how to coordinate is another tough thing for many men. It does not need to be if they just understand about the various concepts of coordination. Starting from differentiating the type skin complexion they belong to would be the most basic knowledge to acquire. Then they just need to put on the right color clothing against their complexion that perks up their facial skin tone and brings the attention to their face. After that, coordinating colors between the various men's clothing is another method. There are various ways to match different and similar or same hues as well as the shades of hues to achieve the nicest blend of colors. If they are adventurous, then there are more that they can create that puts two very contrasting colors and yet a harmonious fusion of such colors without looking weird or clownish. Putting patterns against each other is another challenging task in mens fashion. It is through the play of patterns that can make many men look very trendy and stylish. If not properly done, those clashing patterns would be a very trying and poorly executed attempt. It boils down in knowing the types of patterns and their scale before choosing how to put them together. Men can go for two to four similar or different patterns coordination without even looking overdoing the matching. It is fundamental to keep the flow of patterns as natural as possible and create a relaxing look from the combination. It is good to have an idea of how to put all these mens clothing and accessories together. From there we can develop a permanent styling and never have to worry about the next trend or whether it is unprofessional. At least all aspects of men's fashion have been touched on. Therefore, if you are daring enough it is always possible to transform it into fashionable styling. <a target="_new" href="http://www.mens-fashion-tips.com">Mens Fashion Tips | Mens Fashion Advice | Guide on Mens Clothing</a> Copyright 2005, <a target="_new" href="http://www.mens-fashion-tips.com">http://www.mens-fashion-tips.com</a> Reprinting this article is allowed provided all references and acknowledgement to the author, the website, and the URL remain intact.

Spice Up Your Style with New Exciting Eyewear ? A Wonderful Fashion Accessory

Eyewear without a doubt has become a wonderful fashion accessory, with an endless array of wonderful designs, styles and colors that make wearing eye glasses fun. Fashion eyewear choices can include names like; Armani, Calvin Klein, Gucci, Christian Dior, Cartier, Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, Prada and Laura Ashley to name a few. Fashion eyewear can be found in a variety of frames available in the latest shapes, styles and shades to suit every need and style. You will also find children's fashion eyewear similar to the adult styles made with high quality materials for durability and safety, important to stand up to the wear and tear of children. Whether you wear fashion eyewear or discount eyewear there is a pair of eye glasses to suit your face shape, personality and lifestyle. Never have there been more eyewear styles, designs and colors than there are today. Modern technology has given us an endless variety of sport eyewear and sports specific eyewear to protect our eyes and enhance our sporting activities. With sport eyewear available to offer superior quality optics, elimination of fogging, maximum fields of vision and elimination of reflection the choices have never been better. There are sport specific eyewear and eyewear lenses for the golfer, cyclist, mountain climber, skier, snow boarder, driver and tennis player. Sport eyewear is best known for the optical quality and visual enhancement of the lenses. One example of the innovative sports specific eyewear is the yellow enhancement of eyewear lenses that can be helpful in tennis where the tennis balls are most often yellow. Amber or rose lenses enhance soft grays that mark the shadows on a ski slope. It is very important to wear the correct protective eyewear when participating in sports, to ensure you see properly and your eyes are protected. There are a variety of safety eyewear options available to be used at both home and work where there may be small airborne particles that can get into the eyes. Safety eyewear may be worn when using lathes, saws, sanders and other power tools. Safety eyewear should cover the front of your eyes and the sides and top of your eyes so that particles will not get into the eyes and cause damage. Safety eyewear with polycarbonate lenses (impact resistant) are an excellent idea. Shopping for children's eyewear can be an overwhelming task given all the choices available combined with wanting to find something your child will want to wear while at the same time being long lasting. Most children need eyewear for nearsightedness or farsightedness and will either have to wear their eyewear on a part time or full time basis (this will be established by your eye care practitioner). Children's eyewear can be found in a wide variety of designs, styles and colors with several designer styles similar to the adult versions. Both plastic and metal eyewear frames can offer durability that will keep up to your child's demands. Spring hinges that allow for flexibility at the temple and polycarbonate (impact resistant) lenses are also great choices for children's eyewear. It's a good idea to let your child participate in selecting their eyewear, this way they are more likely to wear their eyewear. It's also wise to stay clear of fads that will quickly become outdated and of course you'll want to make sure your child's eyewear fits properly and comfortably. One type of eyewear that we often forget about is that of specialty eyewear. Specialty eyewear can include computer eyewear, reading eyewear, driving eyewear, sport eyewear, protective eyewear and safety eyewear. Some of the specific uses of specialty eyewear can include; computer eyewear lenses are designed specifically for the close distance associated with the computer; sport eyewear can give increased enjoyment and protection during sports while helping to better see the lines in a golf course or tennis balls; safety eyewear can give protection from dust and glare; eyewear for hobbies such as beading, needlepoint and crafting helps the eyes as your spending a lot of time at close distances. Where you will purchase your eyewear will most likely be a matter of personal choice based on factors such as time, convenience and eyewear knowledge. Before you make any eyewear purchases you'll want to of course visit your eye care practitioner for any necessary eye prescriptions and it also helps to know what styles look best on you. A visit to an eyewear shop can allow you to try on a variety of designs and styles with the help of a knowledgeable salesperson. After you have your eye prescription and know what styles look best you are free to purchase eyewear from the multitude of online eyewear sites. Choose from many of our featured merchants that we have screened for you. Discount eyewear sites offer a wide selection of brand name eyewear, designer eyewear, fashion eyewear, sport eyewear, children's eyewear and prescription eyewear at discount prices. Before making any eyewear purchases make sure the site is reputable. With so many wonderful eyewear designs to choose from it can often be difficult deciding upon one pair of eyewear frames. With that said, new designs and styles are constantly appearing making the choices even more overwhelming, you'll most likely want to have a few pairs of eyewear in your collection. Some of the current eyewear trends can include; rectangular and oval shaped designer eyewear frames with colors like quartz, rose opal crystal, white, peach, lilac, havana, black and gold; ultra-thin lightweight frames; semi-rimless styles; scandium eyewear frames, a new lightweight material that is lighter than titanium; stained glass designs on eyewear frames. With the thousands of eyewear styles, designs and colors available wearing eyewear has never been more exciting. There is eyewear to complement any face shape, lifestyle and personality. Gianni Versace: A Fashion Success!

Gianni Versace was born in 1946 in Reggio, Calabria, in Southern Italy. Versace received his love of fashion and first lessons on dress-making from his mother. Initially Versace trained as an architect, but soon he followed his mother into the fashion business. Versace worked for a number of top Italian fashion houses, but in 1978 with the help of his brother Santo he launched his own label. Versace was a great fashion pioneer who combined the worlds of high style and pop culture. He was a charismatic and accomplished designer of clothing and theater costumes. Versace appreciated a range of historic attire which he incorporated into his designs and he was greatly influenced by Andy Warhol and modern abstract art. Wowzer! Best describes the fashions designed by Gianni Versace. He was notorious for designing garments that would shock and startle our senses. Versace saw his designing as an art form. He initiated clothing that was visually excessive and provocative- fashions that confronted accepted codes of taste, beauty and sexuality. Fashion became entertainment, to be watched and admired - not simply worn. For Versace nothing was too extravagant too crazy or too risque. Yet no matter how extravagant or provocative Versace's clothes were always strikingly well designed garments designed to flatter the body. Versace was the designer of choice for many of the rich and famous: pop stars such as Elton John, and Madonna; film stars such as Will Smith, and Elizabeth Hurley and even royalty - Princess Diana. The wealthy were drawn to his clothes like magnets, and that enhanced his reputation. However, Vercasse did not design simply for the wealthy his clothes were very much available to the average person. In 1985 he launched the Istante label in 1985; and after years as Gianni's muse, his sister Donatella became his co-designer and launched the Versace diffusion range, Versus, in 1989. These labels featured clothes within the budgets of many consumers; not only were they priced lower than the custom-made clothes, but they were also aimed at younger markets. In 1988 Versace received the Cutty Sark Award as "the most innovative and creative designer in the world"; and in 1993 the Council of Fashion Designers of America awarded him the American fashion Oscar. On July 15, 1997 Versace was shot to death outside his South Beach home in Miami, Florida by a crazed gunman name Andrew Cunanan. Since his untimely death in 1997 the Versace fashion house continues to grow under the creative leadership of his sister Donatella and the business acumen of his brother Santo. Donatella's daughter Allegra inherited 50% of the company last summer when she turned 18. However, Donatella is still very much in charge. The days of the wet-look, shocking pink PVC and as much flash and flesh as a catwalk can take are long gone. The new Versace is growing up. "I'm not blind," says Donatella. "I know that most women don't look like models. We had to start addressing other parts of a woman's life. The fashion business is a very different place from when Gianni started the label.&quot; Donatella's mind is very much on the continued success of Versace. With Donatella at the helm, and Santo and Allegra at her side, they continue to grow and develop the Versace Product Lines with fabulous designs unveiled for the 2005 Spring Season. The proof is in the Versace spring fashion line - Have a look for yourself! http://www.newyorkmetro.com/fashion/fashionshows/05/spring/runway/versace/<br> http://www.milanfashionshows.com/spring2005/versace/photos.htm<br> http://www.style.com/fashionshows/collections/S2005RTW/review/VERSACE Sher from Estate Jewelry International has been serving customers for over 20 years, providing fashion, jewelry, and wedding help. Shop Right, Look Great!

All through history one thing has never changed and that is in any given century, fashion has been of great importance to us. It changes over time and often comes back in style many times over. But why is fashion so important to us? We go to such great lengths to look just right. Lets face it; we are judged by how we look. That may sound shallow but it is true. Just go out anywhere and really start looking at people. Observe your own reaction and thoughts when you see how people dress and carry themselves. Some people are born lucky with great genes. Others need a little help. In either case we can all enhance our look through clothing, makeup, jewelry and personal hygiene. Before you shop lets take a look at what you can do to improve your overall look. 1) Look at your hairstyle. Does it really suit you? Is the color right? The right haircut and color can make more of a difference than you may realize. Shop for a good hairdresser. 2) Makeup can change your look from ordinary to amazing, but take note; you'll want to buy products that are natural. Our environment is polluted enough and we don't need to add to it by putting chemical products on our skin that can make us break out. 3) Before you go shopping for clothes, stand in front of a mirror and look at your body. Decide what you like about it and what you don't. What you like about it you'll want to enhance. Don't be shy to promote your best body features. There are things you can do to put less attention on what you don't like such as if your thighs are wider than your shoulders, don't wear tight clothing. You'll only draw attention there. Also don't wear loose fitting tops because it will only give you an overall appearance of being big. It's all about balancing your figure. You've probably observed young girls in the mall with low cut jeans. Some of them pull it off well but when you see belly hanging over it, it's not a good look as that is all you really see. Also wear clothes that are age appropriate. I've seen very young girls and very old women dressed in sexy outfits. It does not come off right and generally meets with a thought of instant disapproval. Also, very important, wear colors that suit you. If you don't know then get a friend to go with you and hold up colors to your face and see what looks best. 4) Shop for accessories such as a purse that compliments your shoes. You can also make quite a statement by doing something simple like pulling your hair back and putting long dangling earrings and no other jewelry. In short, know before you go. Understand your body and shopping will easier. You will look better. Remember, people are unconsciously judging you by your appearance. It's human nature. A Clothes Encounter In The Business World

Do you ever wonder where all the dress rules have gone? Depending on when and where you are on any given business day, the words "distant past" might come to mind. It's difficult to decide if people don't know what to wear to work or if they have lost sight of the relevance of appearance to professional success. The Queen of England is reported to have told Prince Charles, "Dress gives one the outward sign from which people can judge the inward state of mind. One they can see, the other they cannot." Clearly, she was saying what many people are reluctant to accept; that people judge us by the way we dress. In all situations, business and social, our outward appearance sends a message. Try going to a busy restaurant at lunchtime. Look around you at what people are wearing and see if you don't make judgments about who they are, their line of business, their personalities and their competencies. Think about how you feel when you are dressed in your usual business attire as opposed to casual dress. Your choice of business apparel speaks to your professional behavior and credibility. It is important to understand how to dress for business if you wish to promote yourself and your organization in a positive manner, How you dress depends on four factors: the industry in which you work, the job you have within that industry, the geographic area in which you live; and most importantly, what your client expects to see. Professional Dress for Men In men's clothing, fashion does not change significantly from season to season but business attire is about being professional and not about being fashionable. It's about presenting yourself in a way that makes your clients feel comfortable and confident with you. Dressing for success is still the rule. The professional businessman should keep in mind these few points when deciding what to wear to work. Choose a conservative suit in navy, black or gray either pinstripe or solid. The quality of the material speaks as loudly as the color and can make the difference between sleaze and suave. A solid white or blue dress shirt with long sleeves offers the most polished look. The more pattern and color you add, the more the focus is on your clothing, rather than your professionalism. Ties should be made of silk or a silk-like fabric. Avoid the cartoon characters and go for simple and subtle if you want to enhance your credibility. Socks should be calf-length or above. Make sure they match not only what you are wearing, but also each other. A quick glance in good light before heading out the door can save embarrassment later in the day. Check for holes as well if you'll be going through airport security and removing your shoes. Shoes should without question be conservative, clean and well polished. Lace-up shoes are the choice over slip-ons or flip flops. Don't think for a minute that people don't notice shoes. Many people will look at your feet before your face. Belts need to match or closely coordinate with your shoes. Once again, quality counts. Keep jewelry to a minimum. In a time when men sport gold necklaces, bracelets and earrings, the business professional should limit himself to a conservative watch, a wedding band and maybe his college ring. Personal hygiene is part of the success equation. Freshly scrubbed wins out over heavily fragranced any day of the week. Save the after-shave for after hours, but never the shave itself. The finishing touch for the business man is his choice of accessories: briefcase, portfolio and pen. When it comes to sealing the deal, a top of the line suit, a silk tie and a good pair of leather shoes can lose their affect when you pull out the ball point pen you picked up in the hotel meeting room the day before. Professional Dress for Women When women entered the workplace in the 1970's and 1980's in greater numbers than ever before and began to move into positions which had traditionally been held by men, many of them believed that they needed to imitate male business attire. The result was women showing up at the office in skirted suits or coordinated skirts and jackets with tailored blouses finished off with an accessory item that looked very much like a man's tie. Happily those days are gone. While the business woman may now wear trousers to work, she does it out of a desire to appear professional and at the same time enjoy the flexibility and comfort that pants offer over skirts. Her goal is no longer to mirror her male colleagues. The same overall rules apply to women's work attire as apply to men's. Business clothing is not a reflection of the latest fashion trend. A woman should be noticed for who she is and her professional skills rather than for what she wears. Her business wear should be appropriate for her industry and her position or title within the industry. Start with a skirted suit or pants suit for the most conservative look. A skirted suit is the most professional. With a few exceptions, dresses do not offer the same credibility unless they are accompanied by matching jackets. Skirts should be knee-length or slightly above or below. Avoid extremes. A skirt more than two inches above the knee raises eyebrows and questions. Pants should break at the top of the foot or shoe. While Capri pants and their fashion cousins that come in assorted lengths from mid-calf to ankle are the latest trend, they are out of place in the conservative business environment. Blouses and sweaters provide color and variety to woman's clothing, but they should be appealing rather than revealing. Inappropriate necklines and waistlines can give the wrong impression. Women need to wear hose in the business world. Neutral or flesh-tone stockings are the best choices. Never wear dark hose with light-colored clothing or shoes. Keep an extra pair of stockings in your desk drawer unless the hosiery store is next door or just down the street from the office. Faces, not feet, should be the focal point in business so chose conservative shoes. A low heel is more professional than flats or high heels. In spite of current fashion and the sandal rage, open-toed or backless shoes are not office attire. Not only are sandals a safety hazard, they suggest a certain official agenda. When it comes to accessories and jewelry, less is once again more. Keep it simple: one ring per hand, one earring per ear. Accessories should reflect your personality, not diminish your credibility. Business attire is different from weekend and evening wear. Investing in a good business wardrobe is an investment in your professional future. For those who think it's not what you wear but who you are that creates success, give that some more thought. Business skills and experience count, but so does personal appearance and that all-important first impression. ? 2005, Lydia Ramsey. All rights in all media reserved. Mens Fashion Coordination on Solid Colored Mens Dress Shirts

It is common to find men choosing white for their solid colored mens dress shirts. They believe that it is the easiest with other outfits as well as creating a formal appearance. There are people who feel that white dress shirts projects radiance onto mens face. However, there is an aspect that we need to take note in <a target="_new" href="http://www.mens-fashion-tips.com/mens-fashion-coordination.html">mens fashion coordination</a>, which is the skin tone as well as the hair color of the man. Imagine a blond man with fair-colored skin tone in a white shirt. The direction of focus will on the shirt or tie rather than his face. The white shirt is not able enhance his overall light colored skin tone. Instead solid colored mens dress shirts against the skin tone and hair color is supposed to bring the focal point to the man's face, not the shirt. It applies similarly to patterned shirts as well. White is not the only ultimate choice for solid colored mens dress shirts, I would say blue color is the other must-have color for every mens dress shirts. It has the best blend into almost every mens skin tone and hair color. It never seems to go wrong wearing a blue dress shirt to provide a warmer and richer overtone for any skin tone than white dress shirts. Can all blue tones fit different skin tones and hair colors? Generally the best choice is going for medium blue and the suitable shade of medium should always bring the focus toward your face. Men with tan or olive skin tones with contrasting hair color can afford to wear darker blue tones. Fair skin men with dark colored hair have the best advantage in their choice of blue tones. Basically all the shades of blue are suitable for them especially the medium to dark blue tones. Men with light colored hair and fair skin has to settle for light and soft blue hues. The overall blend between their hair and skin creates a muted contrast and the lighter blues will balance out this low contrast. Jewelry and Gemstone Care & Cleaning Tips

Diamond earrings, emerald rings, ruby bracelets, sapphire pendants; no doubt about it everybody loves beautiful gem stone jewelry. Gemstones are quite literally hard as rock, buy they can be damaged from careless handling and negligence. Here are some tips for keeping your gems and jewelry looking fabulous for years to come. 1. Remember, even the hardest gemstone variety can be vulnerable to breakage if it has inclusions that weaken the crystal structure. Exercise common sense: if you have a ring set with a softer gem variety or an included stone, take it off before strenuous exercise. Even the hardest gem of them all, diamond, can shatter in two with a single well-placed blow. Never remove rings by pulling on the stone: that habit may result in a loose, then lost, gem. 2. Most importantly, store each piece of gemstone jewelry separately so that harder stones don't scratch softer ones. Almost every gemstone is much harder than the metal it is set in. Gems can scratch the finish on your gold, silver or platinum if you throw your jewelry in a heap in a drawer or jewelry box. 3. Rings in particular tend to collect dust and soap behind the gem, particularly if you wear them all the time. You need to clean them regularly to let the light in so your gems can shine. To clean transparent crystalline gemstones, simply soak them in water with a touch of gentle dish soap. Use a bowl of water rather than the sink to eliminate the risk of anything going down the drain. If necessary, use a soft toothbrush to scrub behind the stone. Rinse the soap off and pat dry with a lint-free cloth (you want to make sure threads won't catch on the prongs) For diamond, ruby or sapphire, a touch of ammonia in the rinse water won't hurt a bit and can add extra sparkle (for platinum and gold only, not silver!). Think twice before putting gems in an ultrasonic cleaner. Diamonds and rubies and sapphires will be fine but many other gems many not be, in particular emerald, opal, pearls, peridot: when in doubt, leave it out. 4. Organic gems like pearls, coral, and amber should only be wiped clean with moist cloth. Due to their organic nature, these gems are both soft and porous. Be careful about chemicals in hairspray, cosmetics, or perfume: they can, over time, damage pearls in particular. Opals also require special care. Never use an ultrasonic, never use ammonia, and avoid heat and strong light. 5. Opaque gemstones like lapis lazuli, turquoise, malachite, require special care because they are rocks, not crystals of a single mineral like transparent gems. There gem materials should just be wiped clean gently with a moist cloth. These gemstones can be porous and may absorb chemicals, even soap, and they may build up inside the stone and discolor it. Never use and ultrasonic cleaner and never use ammonia or any chemical solution. A little care and common sense can add life, luster and longevity to your precious jewelry and gems. The Mindful Shopper: Learning From Your Trendy Mistakes

Are you a fashion trend-watcher? Do you spend a lot of time flipping through magazines and analyzing the wardrobe choices of others? Do you buy trendy items only to despise them-and yourself-later? Trend-watching-and, more precisely, observing our trend-watching-gives us tremendous opportunities to create awareness of the traits we hope we have but are not sure we do. In fact, being frustrated, embarrassed, or depressed that we have succumbed to a trend is a perfect chance to discover what we value most. It usually comes down to these: creativity and confidence. If we find ourselves buying that trendy little bag or those must-have shoes, that little voice inside us shouts &quot;Sell-out!&quot; and we start to feel that perhaps we're not all we'd hoped to be. After all, a truly creative person would buy-or even make-something unique, and a confident person wouldn't hesitate to go against the current trend and head in a completely different direction. And thus begins a soak in the self-loathing tub, followed inevitably by an abandoned item at the bottom of the closet. To avoid this, you must pay attention to it. What trendy items are buried in your closet at this moment? Why did you buy them? Who were you with when you made the purchase? How were you feeling about the world in general and yourself in particular? A little mindful shopping will go far to alleviate the Trendoid syndrome. And while you're at it, check in with yourself on that monologue going through your head when you see others sporting the latest fashion fetish. You'll learn a whole lot about YOURSELF if you listen carefully and-this is the hard part-non-judgmentally. If you do melt at that crucial cash register moment, don't berate yourself. Simply take note of the way you feel now, and pay attention to how you feel later. Can you see that downward slide? Ah. That's better. Things are getting clearer now. Buying into a trend helps us feel connected when what we really long for is a sense of confidence. Take a look at how you can create greater confidence WITHOUT buying that blouse-of-the-moment, and find ways to tweak the latest trend in a way that makes you feel more creative. Fashion can be fun and absolutely harmless, and you can use your mindful mall meanders to tap into your own sense of who you are-and what you REALLY need. Colored Contact Lenses, the Hottest Trend in Cosmetics is Spreading Like Wildfire Across the Fashion

A cross between cosmetics and vision correction, everyone from movie stars, politicians, athletes and business leaders to soccer moms and teenage children can instantly become the center of attention at work, a party or on the court. It wasn't long ago that contact lenses cost $100 to $200 a pair, and were worn mostly by the affluent or those needing a vision correction that contacts could do better than eye glasses. Today, just about anyone can wear contacts and there is a color or style for almost everyone. One of the things that give contacts such a strong appeal is their ability to change the mood and look of the wearer. By changing your eye color from blue to brown you can not only change the mood from intense to romantic, but also enhance different features of your face, hair and make-up. Colored contact lenses allow the user to change eye color with a trip to the bathroom. There also are special effect lenses that are contacts with designs printed or painted on them. The advances in technology, materials, demand and competition have drastically reduced the prices of contacts. Once costing over a hundred dollars a pair now they can be purchased for as little as $15-$25. The low price and the convenience of being able to purchase contacts locally or online make them a popular alternative to eye glasses. Contacts often do a better job of correcting vision than eye glasses because they are fitted to the eye and aren't sliding up and down the nose where they need to be re-adjusted. The improved vision, the convenience of not putting eye glasses on and taking them off, plus the often improved self-image make contacts an easy choice.<BR><BR> <B>Keep contact lens use safe</B><BR><BR> Contact lenses, colored contacts and special effect contacts can be purchased with a vision correction or without, but all lens purchases within the United States require a prescription from a doctor. Because the lens fits on the eye it is considered a medical device and is governed by those laws. Your lens will need to be fitted to the size and shape of your eye. At the time of the examination your doctor should also go over proper care, cleaning and disinfecting of your contacts. Simply tell your doctor you would like a copy of your prescription so you can shop for your contacts. Your colored lenses probably will make you the talk of the office or school. And with your new popularity there will probably be friends and relatives who want to try your contacts to see how they will look. Contact lenses go directly on your eye and sharing contacts is an excellent way of spreading eye disease, which is spread by bacteria from one wearer to another. So don't share your contacts with others. Remember you only have one set of eyes and you don't want to do anything to jeopardize them. Finally, Everyone Can Feel Good in Swimwear

"Whatever reason or purpose you have for going in the water there is swimwear that you can feel good in and that will suit your needs, including mastectomy swimwear. Regardless of your size, your age or your activity there will be a swimsuit that provides the comfort and coverage you need." Today there is an excellent variety and wide range of options in specialty swimwear designs. Designs include mastectomy swimwear, maternity swimwear, water aerobic accessories, thermal and sun protective swimwear, wetsuits, sports swimwear, plus sized swimwear, high fashion swimwear and of course the large variety of women's and men's swimwear.<br><br> Mastectomy swimwear is special swimwear needed for women who have had a breast removed. The swimwear includes a special pocket sewn in to hold the breast prosthesis in place during even the most vigorous of activities. The swimsuits come in a wide variety of designs to include either low or high necklines, wide or thin straps and skirted or saronged styles so your options certainly aren't limited. A major concern among some women is that the breast forms may be affected by exposure to chlorine from swimming or heats from sunbathing, manufacturers agree this isn't true. Another concern is that the weight of the prosthesis may be too heavy for a swimsuit. The bathing suits manufactured today are specifically made with the strongest stitching and proper fabrics to ensure not only comfort but also piece of mind.<br><br> The maternity swimwear designed today has never been more practical or fashionable. Maternity swimsuits come in both two- piece and one-piece suits. The swimsuits are made with extra lining in the places that need it; most designs have built in soft-cup bras. Tankini designs come in slightly larger belly covering lengths and swimdress suits are available for more coverage. The selections of cover -ups come in both skirt and hooded designs, the skirts are often double lined with elastic waistbands. There are so many great manufacturers offering an endless array of designs and various soft stretchy fabrics that you're ensured a comfy fit during any stage of pregnancy. There are also wonderful nursing bathing suits on the market, which offer proper post pregnancy belly cover-up with built in bras for use when nursing baby.<br><br> Water aerobics is a great all around form of aerobic exercise and an excellent form of cardio fitness. Water aerobics are safe for all ages, as the water causes your body to be buoyant, thus causing less strain and stress on your joints and muscles. Some of the special aerobic water accessories are wrist and ankle weights, active belts, aqua mats, exercise balls, aqua steps, water shoes and barbells. Many of the accessories are covered in neoprene fabric offering comfort to the wearer and chlorine resistance. The active belt is used to promote correct posture while supporting the lower back and toning abdominal muscles. The wrist and ankle weights are used for resistance to get the maximum workout, the cuffs come in various weights for different levels of fitness. It's a good idea to purchase one of the many sports swimsuits available when doing water aerobics so you're ensured a swimsuit that will stand up to your exercise routine.<br><br> Thermal wear and sun protective swimwear are two popular ways to provide your children with either warmth or protection from the sun's harmful UV rays. Thermal wear suits are made from a specially treated, heat reflective neoprene material. The thermal swimsuits allow children to maintain their warmth safely while still allowing for the freedom of movement necessary. The sun protective swimwear manufactured today usually has an SPF of 50 (the highest rating for fabric) and most brands offer approximately a 98% sun block. The suits are made of a nylon-lycra mix, which is lightweight and fast drying. The sunsuits come in a variety of designs to include; baby, children and adult designs; sun hats and sunsuits combined with buoyancy aids. What an excellent way to protect both you're children and yourself from the sun.<br><br> Water Sports swimwear is quite different than the standard swimsuits available for swimming and sunbathing. Water sports such as wakeboarding, wind surfing, surfing, water skiing, diving and jet skiing often require swimwear that offers both warmth and protection from extended time in cold waters. Most wetsuits are made from a specially treated heat reflective neoprene material, which helps people maintain their warmth while providing flexibility and comfort. Wetsuits are available in a wide variety of designs such as; one piece body suits with either long or short sleeves; rash and UV guards (similar to a long or short sleeved t-shirt) with hoods; gloves and boots; wetsuits with hoods. The innovative wetsuits are amazingly flexible and durable providing years of water fun.<br><br> Popular manufacturers of sportswear make excellent quality sports swimwear. These swimsuits like the standard swimsuits come in a wide variety of designs, but are specifically made to endure endless hours of activity in the pool, the suits must provide proper fit and comfort in a long lasting design often used by lifeguards and competitors. As much as the look of the swimsuit is important it is secondary to the fit and durability. Sports swimwear can include; competition swimwear, accessories, training suits, lifeguard suits and practice suits. The swimwear is also includes options such as swim caps, warm-ups, parkas and towels.<br><br> Proper fit of your swimsuit is essential whether you're petite, tall or plus sized. You want to be sure that your swimsuit is neither too small nor too large ensuring the swimsuit provides comfort, flexibility and durability. Plus sized swimsuits come in an excellent variety of designs to include one and two pieces suits from tankini suits to skirted suits. Regardless of your size there is a suit that will fit you properly, with swimsuits made in special bra cup sizes while offering extra lining to provide full coverage.<br><br> Designer Swimwear is a popular line for many high fashion designers. There is no shortage on the extraordinary styles and options out there. If you are in the market for a swimsuit with that &quot;extra something&quot; you can find swimsuits with lovely hand sewn water drops, crystals and beads. There are swimsuits that with special technology allow you to tan through the suit, there are bust enhancing suits and tummy control suits; there really is no limit to what you can find.<br><br> With all the specialty suits mentioned we can't forget the variety of regular women and men's suits available. There are styles, colors and fabric designs to fit anyone's tastes. Swimsuits in one and two- piece varieties for women and the classic swim trunks, shorts and racers for men.<br><br> Whatever reason or purpose you have for going in the water there is swimwear that will suit your needs. Looking Fab at The Beach!

It's that time of year when we pack up our bags and head to the beach for the day to enjoy those warm sunrays and the refreshing sound of the lapping water. So what constitutes a good beach wardrobe. Well there are certain essentials that none of us forget. On goes the swimsuit and bathing suit cover, flip flops on our feet. Beach bag has been packed with the essentials ? sunglasses, floppy hat, towel and a good book. Great ? got the basics covered but what about the rest. So if we are so prepared for a day at the beach, why is it by the time we get home we look pretty worn. Here are some helpful tips to make your day at the beach fun and keep you looking fashion fresh all day and all the way home. First before you leave home, if you've got long hair pull it into a high pony tail or fun knot. Use some funky hair accessories that will stay in place when you're swimming. Try a fun colored bobble or some firm fastening clips in bright summer colors. If you pull your hair up your neck will stay cool and you'll look fresh all day with your neat hairdo. Second slather yourself in sunscreen before leaving the house, then toss the sunscreen in your bag so you can reapply after a swim or every few hours. A sunburn is not only unhealthy and painful, it's unattractive, so don't let yourself turn into the lobster of the day. Your sunscreen should be a SPF of 15. It doesn't hurt to use a strong SPF on your face or your entire body if you burn easily. Your beach bag should be large enough to hold your supplies for the day. Why not get something fun and fashionable to keep you looking fashion fresh. Make sure you've got all the daily essentials in your bag ? sunglasses, sunscreen, a good book, a floppy hat, some lip gloss, and any other makeup touch ups you'll want. If you plan to wear eye makeup make sure it's waterproof. Stay away from heavy foundations. If you must apply something use a bronzer moisturizer. It's also a good idea to bring lip balm with an SPF15 to protect your lips. It never hurts to put some moisturizer in the bag. Include a snack and plenty of fluids. It's important not to get dehydrated. Okay great we've got the basics covered now what about the wardrobe basics? If you're planning to wear a swimsuit it's usually easiest to put it on at home, that way you're not chasing down change rooms. So great ? first on goes the swimsuit. Now what to wear for a cover? Well you've got plenty of choices. A tank top and shorts, tank and skort, or a nice light cotton dress all work well over top. Choose something that's easy to put on and take off, and choose fabrics that breathe to keep you cool. I also suggest including a long sleeved cotton blouse just incase you start to burn you can protect your shoulders and arms. If you're planning on heading out later in the day without returning home you might want to toss a pair of jeans or long skirt into your bag. If your outing is going to extend into the evening you'll want to include a sweater for the cooler evening air. If you're worried about your evening wear getting sandy or wet at the beach, then place them in a separate bag and leave them in the trunk of your car. That way you are guaranteed they'll remain fresh. My favorite beach look is this. And what's perfect is it keeps me looking fashion fresh throughout the day and takes me right into the evening. First I like a swimsuit that's got lots of support and is bright and cheerful. I throw a fitted tank on top and throw on a loose flouncy long skirt. The long skirt serves me through the evening and also works great to cover up if I'm starting to burn. I choose a lightweight material in a darker color with a pattern that accents the colors in my swimsuit. Flip flops are my footwear. Depending on where I'm heading after the beach I choose either a basic pair or one of my funky pair with rhinestones or crystals. Easy to walk in, feet breath, and terrific for an evening out. I keep a fitted light weight sweater in my car, and take a long sleeved cotton blouse down to the beach. I usually choose a long sleeved and long length blouse because it's versatile. I can knot it to create a short blouse, wear it long as a beach cover, and put it on if I start to burn on my upper body. I usually choose white or a soft pastel depending on my other colors. I like white because it's cool to wear and refreshing to look at. Every year I buy a fun new beach tote that's big enough for the beach but not too big as to take it with me for an evening out. I like a fun bag that's full of character. Since I always feel naked without my jewelry I wear fashion jewelry to the beach. That way should I loose something I won't be out a lot of money and I won't feel so bad. I like to keep the earrings simple and elegant. I may or may not wear a necklace. Often I'll toss a funky wood necklace in the bag to add to the evening outfit. I like to wear a couple of fashion rings just to add the finishing touches. Now if you're fussy about tan lines you'll probably want to forgo the rings. I toss my watch in the bottom of my bag so I can put it on later. That's it ? simple is the key. Keep your beach wardrobe choices simple but fashionable. Think ahead so you can go from beach to an evening out without hassle. Remember to always make your fashion statement! Pearl Jewelry: The Epitome of Elegant Simplicity

Pearl jewelry catches attention because of its uncomplicated and serene elegance. It may seem like an oxymoron, but sometimes the simplest things are the ones that are the most attractive. A look at a simple pearl earring, a representative example of pearl jewelry, is enough to dispel all doubt. In fact, for many kinds of pearl jewelry, the operating principle is "the simpler the better." At times a single pearl can even say much more than a dozen pearls all lined up. This is why some consider pearl jewelry to be even more beautiful than diamond, more valuable and timeless. Pearls are formed when a foreign object, such as a grain of sand, becomes trapped in an oyster or mussel. The grain becomes coated with layers of a smooth, crystalline substance known as nacre. Over time this natural process produces the luminescent gem known as a pearl. Most pearls used in making pearl jewelry are cultured, meaning oysters are injected with irritants in order to induce nacre production. Finely-cultured pearls are rare, and they fetch an exorbitant price. The mysterious glamour of natural South Sea pearls has prompted new combinations among necklaces of various colors and sizes. There is a growing demand for these pearls, as well as an increasing need to know more about pearls in general. Remember Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle in "My Fair Lady", and as Holly Golightly in "Breakfast at Tiffany's"? She wore such simple pearl jewelry, and yet they made her face shine. Pearls bring glamour to a woman's face, catch the light and trap it in to create a very suffused glow not unlike a halo. Translucence is also a mystical quality of pearls, evoking mystery and sophistication in the wearer. Due to its timeless elegance, pearl jewelry never falls out of fashion. They can be worn with almost anything; after all they serve to accentuate more the healthy color of the skin rather than the clothes a person wears. Women?s Guide: Fashion Trends for Summer 2005

If you are like me and many others the warm weather motivates you to do or try new things. It even inspires you to pay more attention to your overall appearance. But, before you go shopping I suggest you take a look at this list to see what is in style. ? Cropped pants ? If you see pants that are too long to classify in the shorts category and too short to qualify as the regular long pants those are referred as cropped pants. They fit inches below the knee but, are placed above the ankle. ? Natural hair ? Good news for ladies with curly or wavy hair. Curls are in; all you have to do is wash your hairs apply some gel or mousse and blow dry with a diffuser. For define curls utilize hair rollers. ? Color crazy- Bright colors are in for 2005. Some of the most common are kiwi, turquoise, coral, fuchsia, mango, yellow, aqua, melon, violet and many more? Do not ignore some of the regular pastel colors such as light pink. White should always be in your ward robe during the summer season. ? Knee length skirts- They come in all styles from pleated to form fitting. ? Cuffed pants- Many of the cuffed pants are also cropped. ? Tunics- They will not only give you a different look. You will also feel comfortable and cool. ? Prints, patterns and stripes, embroidered etc. are in this summer. So, do not be afraid to buy a blouse with floral print (any type of prints). ? About the fabric- Silk is definitely in style. Do not be surprise to see a lot of lace jewels, beads, rhinestones etc. on clothes. ? Accessorize- You will find anything from drop earrings to beaded and wooded jewelry. Other very popular accessories are brooches, variety of buckle belts, pendants, neck silk scarfs and many more. Just make sure that you do not over accessorize. ? Shoes- Comfort is also chic now. Also featured were longer, asymmetrical fashion ponchos in a rainbow-bright display of colors and patterns. Whatever your look for this summer, there is a women's fashion poncho to suit. Fashion Trends for Fall 2005

The overall theme of fashion for Fall 2005 is an air of drama. Black is back, coats are dramatic, and smart tailoring is going to be huge. Black is back in a big way ? well for most of us it never went away. The stores will be filled with delicious eveningwear particularly black lace, which is sexier than ever whether it's girlie, 80's retro, boho or red carpet elegant. This also works well with the next big trend which is Victorian. Full length skirts, high-necked ruffled blouses and puffed sleeves are the main features of this look. You can go for either prim or sexy. Accessorise with boots, hats and gloves for a total look. Dresses are soft and feminine for Fall 2005. Velvet in sumptuous autumnal or jewel colours, while more boho-styled graphic prints will also be around for those of you who loved your hippy chic this summer and don't want to give it up just yet. Coats for this winter will be big and dramatic with big collars, possibly in fake fur. The big story however is going to be Houndstooth checks, the bigger and bolder the better. In fact checks are big in all types of clothes this fall, including plaids and tartans which appear on everything from trousers and skirts to bags, shoes and hats. Tailoring is back as one of the strongest features of Fall 2005 ? in particular the pencil skirt which appears as part of a skirt suit. Skirts of all types are hot for Fall, straight, wide and swirly, and for the slimmest of figures only the 'bubble', a tulip shaped skirt which will exaggerate hips, so wear with caution! National costumes have inspired lots of heavily decorated ethnic styles, in particular Russian styles, thick with embroidery and texture and topped off with a furry Russian-style hat, warm enough for the depths of a Moscow winter. Peru has also provided inspiration for embroidered clothes and bright knits. There are many gorgeous accessories around this season to complete your outfit. Knee high boots, ideally with laced up details to go with the Victorian and ethnic looks, and platforms are making a comeback, usually with a narrow heel. If you prefer flats there will be lots of ballet pump styles. Metallics in shoes, bags and belts will also be popular. For daytime, bags can be as big as you like, either slouchy hobo styles or classic square types. For evening, bags should be tiny and decorated with tassels, jewels or embroidery. The detail of the season will be pom-poms on everything from scarves to shoes, and the hottest color for accessories will be purple, preferably with studs. Why Fashion Matters

Fashion has suffered its share of browbeating and scorn. To understand fashion and what it truly implies for a culture I take a step back from my undertaking to catalogue fashion history. The wedding itself and the events leading up to the ceremony are stepped in Victorian customs one of the first influence the young girl is choosing the month and the day for her wedding. June has always been the most popular month, for its name after Juno, Roman goddess of marriage she would bring prosperity and happiness to all who wed in her month. The very word &quot;fashion&quot; is derived from the Latin &quot;factio&quot;, which gave birth to the politically sensed &quot;faction&quot;. The word &quot;faction&quot; applies to differences and conflicts among groups with further connotations of the possession and exercise of power by them. Our website www.ebridals.com serves for the best of bridal gown and prom dresses for Today's fashion conscious brides, these all dresses are designed by one of the leading designer Andy anand, who have designed his bridal gowns and bridal dresses which add extra grace and poise to the bride. According to him ''fashion is has always been for the elite. It has two effects: a trickle up effect, when streets fashion comes into the main stream; and a trickle down effect, when fashion moves from the elite to the masses. His bridal dresses have the special quality which appeal to people of all the class, color and shape, ebridals.com has the beautiful bridal gowns, prom dresses, and wedding dresses. Fashion becomes a signifier of class structures. Such is the nature of social class that the elite never mix well with the commoners. We live under hegemonic structures, whether we like to admit as much or not, and we use fashion to not only preserve our differences but also to legitimize them. When the well heeled order haute couture, they order dresses that establish them as different. Wearing that expensive outfit becomes a statement that seals these differences once and for all. Thus, fashion is used as a fence to keep away lesser citizens by the elite. But it doesn't stop there. The commoners use it as a bridge to become nearer to their social superiors. This explains the pathological rush towards designer labels, taking place today, and also leads to the branding of fashion as meaningless. But the truth is that fashion is an aspiration towards creating meaning. Such class struggle may seem frivolous and fashion may seem to be the culprit. But fashion is only a symptom that communicates the illness. The illness lies in society itself. The aim of www.ebridals.com is not only to provide designer dresses but also to introduce you to the ''WORLD OF FASHION'' all the bridal dresses and prom dresses are made with the special sresearch and care to give the ''style'' and ''comfort'' with classic touch. Fashion has a cultural profile that saves it from trivial. Those who dislike differences of ideology and class are usually that ones that view fashion negatively, call it shallow and hold it for creating misguided desires. Those who come to accept that there is no easy utopia and that differences amongst people will remain, can seen fashion for what it truly is: an outlet for creativity, a tool of cultural production and the means by which cultural differences find peaceful voices. <a target="_new" href="http://www.ebridals.com">www.ebridals.com</a> comes with a variety of designer wedding dresses and bridal gown in different fabrics and colors.

How to Shop for Comfortable Pilates Workout Wear

Studies show that an estimated 60% of Americans do not receive the recommended amount of physical exercise per day. It is also estimated that of those 60% who are not active enough, there are 25% who are completely inactive on a daily basis. Being active is crucial to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and living a longer life. Perhaps, that's why so many people have showed interest in Pilates. Pilates has taken over the workout world and has received so much hype because of the wonders it performs on the body. So now that you've decided to become a part of the whirlwind, let's figure out what you're going to wear. Many individuals are confused as to what types of clothing are most appropriate for Pilates. Here is a list of criteria you might want to consider when shopping for Pilates workout wear: ? Comfortable Clothing - Comfort is key in Pilates. If you are not comfortable in what you are wearing you will be self-conscious and hesitant to perform some of the positions. ? Clothes that are body hugging - This means clothes that enables you to breathe and move, but not so loose that when you move around you are afraid of your shirt lifting or your tummy showing. ? Light and Airy Clothing - You do not want to show up to a Pilates class wearing huge track pants that weigh about as much as you do. You want your clothes to breathe. You are going to work up a sweat and therefore you want the lightest clothing possible. ? Stay Away from the Extras - Extra detailing, such as buttons and zippers, can cause discomfort during your workout and become painful if they are jammed into you when performing certain poses. ? Respect Your Classmates - Be respectful to others in the class and refrain from wearing any clothing which advertises sex, drugs, religion or otherwise as it may be offensive to other individuals taking the class. Most of all, be comfortable and have fun! The clothing you choose is not as important as the fact that you are improving your lifestyle, creating a better life for yourself and setting a better example for others. Lingerie as Fashion Statement

When Madonna first wore her sexy underwear as outerwear our parents were astonished and we thought she was soooo daring. Today a camisole or corset in public is the sexy norm and something for every woman - not just the most daring "material girls". Of course you want to make sure sensitive bits are covered so you do not end up spending the night in jail instead of in the throes of passion! A great way to show your taste for the lingerie look is through the use of bows and tassels. The ultra-popular low-rider jeans help with this and a there are a tons of thongs, panties and bustiers that are made to be shown. Lingerie now comes highlighted with crystals, sequins, fur and exquisite lace just begging to be shown off. Thongs have been big for the past few years with more women discovering that thongs really are not just "uncomfortable butt floss" but give a really cool and liberating feeling. More women are wearing thongs for everyday activities and not just to look sexy for someone else. Is anything sexier and more feminine than a corset? The demand for corsets is growing by leaps and bounds. With the camisole corset you don't have to worry about the breathtaking fit of yesteryear - just the breathtaking look of you in all your womanly glory! Of course, the best trend to come along recently is the tremendous growth in plus size lingerie quantity and quality. Not too long ago there were very few choices for big beautiful women for looking sexy and now there are whole stores dedicated to large size sexy costumes and garters and more. No longer does plus size mean minus sexy! Fashion Designer David Dixon The Designer Guy

Fashion designer David Dixon, is known as the &quot;designer guy&quot;. He is recognized as one of the leaders in Canadian fashion and as one of the most respected designers. This year he celebrates his lines 10th anniversary. From 1995 to 2000 Dixon was a Toronto Fashion Incubator. However, he became tired of working for other designers, so he pushed out on his own using the TFI resources to get his start. After some struggling and an interesting roller coaster ride, Dixon has become quite a successful designer and his name has become well recognized in the fashion industry. Dixon graduated from Ryerson Polytechnic University in 1994. He was named the City of Toronto New Designer of the Year in 1996, Fur Council of Canada Bronze in 1998. and the Matinee Fashion Foundation Grant Recipient in 1999 and 2000. Dixon Strives aims for growth in his collections. Evolution is important to him as he is known to thrive on change. He is not a man to find success and stick with it. His designs are every changing, fluid and in motion. He constantly is on the move working with the passion of an artist deep in thought. Dixon is a man that follows his heart and grabs the moment. His fashions are more than fashion, they reflect the inner deeper sole. Dixon's collections can be found in Canada, the Middle East and parts of the United States. He is known for using unusual fabrications to create a simple silhouette. David Dixon's signature is built on fabric. Each of his collections features at least one unique accent. Last season he used ostrich feathers on skirts and dresses. Dixon is often associated with Glamour and Romance. For the women who wears Dixon age is never a factor. This seasons collection is not only romantic, it is trendy. Dixon's heavily uses capri pant, floral prints, hot shade of ochre and brown go along way towards adding a little sizzle. It is quite apparent that great thought has gone into mixing color with the lines of the garment and the fabric texture. His collection boasts of more than just another designer garment. David's clothing is known for combining luxury with the functional, fantasy with the sensible. They say fashion reflects the society it is part of. If that's the case Canada must be hopelessly romantic, elegant and just a little bit edgy. Canada is often forgotten in the designer world, with places like Paris and Italy front and center stage. The designs of David Dixon have put Canada on the Fashion Radar Screen. If you are a woman with a strong sense of fashion who wants more than just another designer garment, do take some time to check out Dixon's Spring and Summer collection, and watch for his fall collection coming soon. Are You Good-Looking Enough For Your Job?

Beauty has muscle. Beauty captures our attention and pulls us in? Beauty is only skin deep, but it counts almost for everything. Especially , within the first few seconds of meeting a prospect. Most, if not all of the time, we take things at face value. Here are a few examples: 1) You buy the 'orange-ist' orange ? even though you know they've probably been sprayed with chemicals to look that way. 2) Your mouth waters as you stumble across a succulent joint of lamb in a Sunday supplement ? even though you know it's probably been lightly 'dusted' in creosote to look that way. 3) Your attention is drawn to a lithe, tanned young thing on the TV screen ? even though? see 1 above. We take things at face value? And so do your prospects. A colleague of mine is an N.L.P expert, and I mean EXPERT. He has spent years and years learning and developing his skills. Pouring over books, attending seminars, taking exams? He's worked closely with Paul McKenna? He's a Master's Masters N.L.P instructor (or something or other), and yet? He struggles to find clients. Why? Well one major reason it that he doesn't LOOK like an expert. People judge and they don't see beyond the clothes, the haircut and the bad time keeping. And so he doesn't get hired. Totally unjustified, but true? You could say he's a 'green' orange*. It doesn't matter how good you look on the inside - your prospects judge the 'packaging' first. So are you good looking enough for your job? Or in other words? Are you looking good enough for your job? *Ethylene is used commercially to degreen oranges, however, it is for cosmetic reasons because oranges can be fully ripe even if they are green on the outside. The Pearl Necklace -- A Timeless Beauty

It has been said that of all the pieces of jewelry in the world, a pearl necklace is the only thing that a woman should not be without. And that's no wonder, for a pearl necklace is the embodiment of classic sophistication and timeless elegance. It goes with a variety of outfits, from casual day wear to formal evening attire. And depending on the type of pearl and color, there are various pearl necklace styles suitable for the very young, those enjoying their golden years, and almost everyone else in the middle. The price of a pearl necklace depends on the quality of its pearls. Saltwater pearls are generally more expensive than freshwater ones, which are cultured. The sheen and the thickness of the pearls' nacre also affect the price, as well as the size and roundness of the pearls themselves. Pearl necklaces of various colors are available on the market. Smaller pearls in light hues of blue or pink are usually more suitable for young children, while the creamier, ivory-toned pearls are preferred by older women. Jewelry pieces made from black pearls are very, very expensive, since these pearls are so rare. According to Chinese folklore, pearls are the tears of a dragon. In Roman mythology, they are the tears of Venus. Jewelry designers, in their tireless efforts to do justice to the legendary beauty of these gems, have been adding their own twists to the pearl necklace. Aside from the classic strand, the pearls used in necklaces are sometimes set in gold, silver or platinum. Some designers also mix pearls with other gems to create a unique effect. Extra ornaments, such as charms or a brooch, can also be attached to a pearl necklace to give it a personalized flair. Caring for a pearl necklace does not involve a lot of fuss. The most advisable thing to do is to wear it often, because if it's stored away for long periods of time, it will dry up and lose its sheen. The body's natural oils will keep the pearls looking lustrous and fresh. It's also important to avoid having the pearls come in contact with substances such as hair spray or body lotion, since these can also adversely affect the pearls' condition. The popularity of the pearl necklace has never waned both among ordinary people and society's elite. The quintessential fashion plate, Jackie Kennedy, had a passion for pearls; so does actress Maria Berenson. Other celebrities often photographed wearing pearl necklaces are Michelle Pfeiffer, Sophia Loren, Jennifer Lopez and Paris Hilton. The versatility of pearls is such that fashion experts are even predicting an increase in the number of men who will start wearing pearl-accented dress accessories. For now, however, there is very little to surpass the elegance of the sight of a pearl necklace gracing the neckline of a woman, whether she's a celebrity or not.
